Spring Clean - French Manicure

Hello! 

As Spring is finally here I thought I would do a post on the classic, clean, beautiful french manicure. 

I've seen this look popping up all over the place used with various colours, styles and shapes especially for spring, so this is definitely a look to watch out for in the up-coming months.

I have to admit, as my nails have only just started recovering from the winter months I wanted to keep it to the traditional, clean french manicure. 

To create this look I used BarryM 342 Nude and 66 Matte White.

I use BarryM nail varnish all the time, it's definitely become my favourite drugstore/high street nail varnish, their colours are so up to date, their constancy is lovely, the colour glides on to the nail evenly & most importantly they don't chip and look perfect for up to about a week (coming from an art student) Also, they dry so quickly...what more could you want?! 

I didn't use the french manicure guild line stickers, as when it comes to nails I tend to have quite a steady hand, but I definitely recommend them as they create a really clean line.

Naked3 -Urban Decay

Hello!

Yes! The sun is coming out, the flowers are blooming and all the tree are looking fuzzy which means one thing...Spring is finally here and I've managed to build up the courage 

and buy the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay! 

Price: £37 ($52)

There has been so much uproar about this palette so I wanted to get my hands on it, but was slightly put off when I saw how pink the palette was, as I've got very pale skin and wasn't 100% sure.

For my birthday I was given a gift card for Debenhams so I went a head and got it! 

I have to say it really is beautiful the colours are perfect for Spring/Summer as they're really really natural and light. 

The first thing that strikes you is the lovely packaging, like the Naked 2 its in a tin, which is extremely convenient and protects all your eyeshadows very well. 

This also means the font on the front and down the spine doesn't rub off (which I found with the Naked 1 felt packaging) 

Like the Naked 2, the palette contains a Dual ended Urban Decay brush & The box included 4 packets of Urban Decay Primer Potion which was a lovely add on and feels like your getting that little extra for your money.

Here are the colours, they all live up to Urban Decays flying reputation meaning very pigmented and give a gorgeous colour pay off so that you don't need to use much to get an effective look that lasts all day. 

These colours, when used correctly, last forever. I've had the Naked 1 palette since it first came out (about 3 years ago) and still haven't hit pan, the texture of the colours are gorgeous too! They're smooth and extremely blend-able & are totally worth the money.

Like the other 2 palettes this contains a mixture of Matte and Shimmer colours, this is perfect for any look. It also has 12 never-before-seen shades which are exclusive to the Naked 3 Palette. 

Below are some swatches which I did only touching the colour pan lightly and you can see for yourself how pigmented the colours are!

Valentines Day Beauty

December Favourites!

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas, got everything you wanted and had a brilliant start to 2014!

I wanted to do a blog post about all the bits a got for christmas but considering my 18th Birthday is quickly approaching I thought I would put what I got for Christmas & my Birthday in to one big blog post!

So, Here is a quick post just to give you all a little insight into what beauty-related products I have been loving and using non-stop over december! 

1. Hollywood Glo by Benefit 

First up! I have been using this product religiously over the winter months, especially in party season, as this gives you a beautiful golden glow without making you orange! Also, not to mention the smell of this product which is a lovely rose-water scent and very feminine.

Its super clever, as I have really pale skin (especially in the winter) any type of fake tan just looks streaky and orange and .... well, need I say more?  This little rose gold saviour, once applied, corrects to your skin tone making you gorgeous and golden (without the tango-ed look)!

2. Sexy Little Things Noir Tease by Victoria Secret

Okay, so I have found a very major place for this in my heart. This is one of THE best body sprays i've ever smelt! It's a very sexy, feminine, warm fragrance which I love and if you can get hold of this I 100% recommend you to try it! I always have a little bottle of this in my handbag for top-ups during the day.

3. Moisture Match for Dull Skin by Garnier 

For my skin I've been using this moisturiser everyday! As it's the winter my skin really has been suffering and getting very dull & tired-looking. I'm very very happy with this product and its been working wonders on my skin throughout December, only 1 con is because its very thick if you use too much at one time it can feel a little sticky which isn't pleasant.. but don't let that put you off because its great to put under your foundation and it really helps it stay on like a primer and i've definitely noticed a difference in my skin. 

4. Vanilla Pigment by MAC

For my Fourth winter favourite I've chosen MAC vanilla pigment. I've been using it non-stop as a highlight and on the inner corner of my eye. Its a beautiful frosty-white shade and complements any makeup look. This was the first pigment I've ever bought as its a very 'safe shade' - and it certainly won't be last! 

5. Lasting Finish Colour Rush in shade 100 Give Me A Cuddle by Rimmel 

This is a gorgeous tinted lip balm, its a lovely baby pink shade. Iv been using this product for most of December as the pigment is really high and baby pink lips make your face look very fresh and with lip balm qualities its very moisturising.

 As this is a rimmel product claiming to be "long lasting" I was extremely surprised to find that it really DOES stay on and will not budge at all. The ultimate test I put it through was infact New Years Eve, when I took off all my make up at night (forgetting about the lip balm) and woke up with the colour still as strong as when i first put it on, it perfectly in place and no trace of makeup on my friends pillow (Result? yes!)

6. Christmas Eve and Cinnamon Stick by Yankee Candle 

Finally, Christmas isn't Christmas without cosy candles and these have been my favourite of the month! christmas eve smells beautiful, it reminds me of holly berries and spiced oranges and then cinnamon stick just smells purely of cinnamon and is so cosy and warming.

Rihanna MAC Pleasure Bomb Lipstick Review

Hey there! 

So, This is a post which I had to share with you guys! 

For every girl who loves makeup as much as me would be aware of Rihanna's new collection for MAC, which completely sold out in just under 10 minutes!!

After waiting and waiting I finally managed to get my hands on the RiRi Hearts MAC collection and got her "break-through" lipstick Pleasure Bomb! 

I can totally understand what all the fuss is about, its a beautiful Matte Fuchsia Pink. I was extremely worried about this lipstick being too neon to wear over christmas, but its quite a cool pink with slight cool red/blue undertones (which makes your teeth look sparkly white -who wouldn't want that?!) and is very wearable. 

Also, as this isn't like a pure red lipstick you don't have to go very bear on the eyes (so for girls like me thats a relief) when I wear this lipstick I tend to go for a brown smokey eye which really complements it. 

The texture of the lipstick is surprisingly moisturising as, personally, I found the RiRi Woo quite drying. The staying power on this lipstick is, like every MAC lippy, VERY good. Its doesn't slide and smudge & looks beautiful if you line your lips before hand for the perfect 'going out' look. 

The packaging for the Rihanna MAC collections has always been beautiful, but I really think they have gone all they way with this christmas collection. They've opted for a beautiful rose-gold and white theme which finishes off your makeup counter perfectly and screams "wear me!!" & as I've got 0% will power it's been top of my list for this party season.

If you can get your hands on it, I 100% recommend it! 

Guess who's back?!

Hello lovelies!

I know, I haven't actually blogged in god knows how long! I've just been super busy finishing off the first year of college, In around March/April time I got asked to do a photo shoot with a 2nd year who was doing his Final Major Project of which I leaped to as I knew his fashion photography really is amazing, & he wanted to use the plastic bottle dress I made for my fashion project so all-in-all it was a win-win! 

 I then was getting through my summer with MORE college work running around London trying to find as much information on Fashion Designers as I possibly could AND on top of that i was working pretty much full time at my local garden centre! 

I, then, finally managed to get away from all the stress and went on an amazing holiday with Jack to Corfu in Greece, it was my first holiday away with out my parents and I will never forget it!

I've now started my second year of college and my-oh-my has time flown, i've been constantly doing course work since starting back and it just been a complete whirlwind -I can't believe it's christmas next week already! 

But things are going really well iv got lots of exiting things lined up for the new year to share with you guys and not to mention my 18th in January! which is super exciting :)

In october it was mine and jacks 2 years together (yep-already!) &as a huge surprise he took me up to London for the weekend and we stayed in the most beautiful hotel, with a view of the O2 arena outside our bedroom window across the river Thames, that evening he had arranged for us the walk over the top of it! (we got there, but it was cancelled due to 45mph winds *huge sad face*) then the next day we went to London Zoo!

Recently, I went to Bournemouth to meet up with my brother and his girlfriend who both live in Plymouth, so we all met half way and did a spot of Christmas shopping and walked around a little christmas market! It was beautiful there having winter strolls along the beach, seeing all the fairy lights around town and not to mention seeing the academy where we're all going to see McBusted next year! (AHHH!!)

Hey everyone! 

Over the last couple of weeks I've been running around trying to sort out all my art coursework! Which has just been crazy as we're coming up to the end of the 1st year at college now *sad face* 

BUT, last week I fancied a bit of a change to my hair.."freshen up my style" i suppose you could say! so as you can see I now have a brown fringe, which makes me feel a bit more 'quirky' personally :) haha!

Also, as iv been working some extra hours recently, I ended up splashing out on the debenhams website (they have 10% off all beauty & perfume... I couldn't resist...) so, iv managed to get my hands on the MAC vanilla pigment..I'm literally so excited about this arriving as iv never used a pigment before :)
